Girls:

Warwick Angels U13’s 12-0 Coundon Court U13’s

A three game winning streak for the Under 13’s was ended by a rampant Warwick Angels on Saturday. The hosts – who have won all eight league games this season, netting 65 goals in the process – took an early lead and were 5-0 ahead at the break. Warwick added another seven goals in the second-half to ensure a comfortable victory against a well-spirited Coundon side. Ellie gave the visitors something to cheer about with a succession of excellent saves – including one from the spot in the second-half. The Under 13’s face a tough trip to Bilbrook Ladies next week in the cup, looking to replicate the 2-1 league scoreline at the start of the month.

Derby County U14’s 0-0 Coundon Court U14’s

The U14’s maintained their position at the top of the table with an excellent point away at Derby County. The hosts – who were last week beaten for the first time this season by Sporting Club Albion – were lucky to still be level after early dominance by the visitors as Leigh and Danielle were both denied in front of goal. Derby pinned Coundon back at the end of both halves, but it was the visitors who came closest to snatching a winner, as Megan drove wide and Kia had an effort blocked on the line. The Under 14’s are also in cup action next week, as they play host to Kinghurst Sporting, who currently sit joint second in Division One.

Boys:

Leamington Hibs U7’s vs Coundon Court U7’s

Kian scored and put in a man-of-the-match performance as the Under 7’s took on Leamington Hibs on Saturday. They are also away next week, as they take on Weddington Thistle.

Leamington Hibs U9’s 2-0 Coundon Court U9’s

The Under 9’s lost for the first time in over a month, as they slipped to defeat away at Leamington Hibs. In a tight contest, Hibs took an early lead but were lucky to maintain their clean sheet when Evan struck the crossbar. Coundon pressed for an equaliser, but the hosts broke and scored a second to wrap up the points. There were several positives to take from the performance though, as all eight players did exceptionally well, particularly the efforts of goalkeeper Rian, who made a string of terrific saves. The Under 9’s are back at home next weekend, as they face a tough task against second-placed Massey Ferguson.

Coundon Court U10’s 2-1 Kenilworth Wardens U10’s

The Under 10’s extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven, as they saw off Kenilworth Wardens in a tight game on Sunday. After a 3-3 draw in the cup six weeks ago - which was eventually won on penalties by Coundon – Kenilworth were looking for revenge, however strikes by Steve and Connor ensured the points would go to the hosts. The result also sees Coundon leapfrog Kenilworth in the table with 16 points. The Under 10’s are at home to struggling Southam United next weekend.

Coventry Copsewood U11’s 1-8 Coundon Court U11’s

The Under 11’s goal tally now stands at 61 in just nine games this season, after an emphatic victory away at Coventry Copsewood. Owen and Cain both scored twice, plus goals by Sam J, Farris, Jack and Matthew – his 13th of the season – ensured another big victory. The Under 11’s host Coventry Sphinx next weekend.

Coundon Court U14’s 4-5 Haunchwood U14’s

The Under 14’s suffered their second defeat of the season to Haunchwood, despite a spirited display on Sunday. Determined to make up for the 3-1 loss earlier in the season, a Coundon side ravaged by injuries fell behind after failing to deal with a long throw into the box. Keenan struck his first goal for the club to level matters before Haunchwood went back in front with a well-worked goal. The visitors controversially went 3-1 ahead just before the break, when Haig put into his own net despite a blatant foul in the box. Tom dragged Coundon back into the game at 3-2 after the break, only for the hosts to immediately concede to a long-range effort. Steve superbly manufactured a goal for himself, before Tom equalised from close-range to confirm a tremendous comeback. Coundon hearts were broken at the death though, as a cross-turned-shot evaded Damon to steal the points for Haunchwood.

  1. Pretty much like the reports that you get on the BBC Sport web pages-informative, coherent and good summaries. Nice one!
