Girls:

Coundon Court U10’s 2-7 Sporting Club Albion U10’s

The Under 10’s suffered their second defeat on the bounce to Sporting Club Albion in the second round of the cup on Saturday. After losing 8-1 away to the league leaders in their last game back in November, Coundon were looking for revenge and started the brighter of the two teams before falling behind. Emily scored her eighth goal of the season and a late own goal made the scoreline seem a little more respectable for the hosts.

Coundon Court U11’s 0-2 Knowle Girls U11’s

The Under 11’s were brought back down to earth after losing at home to Knowle, also in the cup. After four consecutive victories, Coundon were high in spirits going into the game but never really got going against a Knowle side who sit just two points below them in the table. It was the second time Knowle had travelled and beaten Coundon this season, following a 2-1 league victory at the start of October.

Coundon Court U12’s 9-0 Leamington Lions B U12’s

Harriett and Sophie both netted hat-tricks as Coundon thumped bottom club Leamington Lions B on Saturday. Harriett – who scored four in the reverse fixture earlier in the season – took her tally to 12 for the season with the treble, whilst Sophie now has 13 in this campaign. Jess added two and Bailey scored her first goal for the club, as Coundon kept up their pursuit of Sporting Club Albion at the top of the league.

Bilbrook Ladies U13’s 3-1 Coundon Court U13’s

The Under 13’s couldn’t replicate last month’s magnificent league effort, as they were dumped out of the cup by Bilbrook. After a 2-1 success in the same fixture a little over a month ago, Coundon dominated the first-half but couldn’t find a way past the Bilbrook goalkeeper. The visitors kept the pressure up and Cerys netted the opener at the start of the second half, but were quickly pegged back by a looping finish by the hosts. Bilbrook twice netted in the next 15 minutes and that was enough for them to book a place in the next round of the cup.

Coundon Court U14’s 14-2 Kingshurst Sporting Club U14’s

The cup holders are through to the next round, after a thoroughly resounding victory at home to Kingshurst. The visitors, currently sitting in fourth place in Division One – a league below Coundon – could field only nine players and were duly punished by the rampant hosts. Brittany struck five and Rhea netted two – their first goals for the club – whilst Leigh also struck twice. Charlotte Ha, Chelsea, Lianne, Hannah and Charlotte Ho. also found the net, as Coundon ran out easy winners.

Coundon Court U15’s 2-1 Warriors U15’s

The U15’s picked up a huge cup scalp as they defeated Warriors on Saturday. Despite playing in a league below, Jenny fired Coundon ahead in the first-half. The visitors equalised, but Coundon pushed forward and scored a winner in the second-half.

Boys:

Coundon Court U9’s 6-1 Alveston Juniors U9’s

The Under 9’s bounced back from their defeat to Leamington three weeks ago with a victory over struggling Alveston Juniors. Brook took his tally to ten for the season with a double, whilst Andre, Kyle, Ben and Oliver also scored to cap off a comfortable win.

Chapelfield Colts U14’s 3-3 Coundon Court U14’s

The U14’s became the first team to take points off high-flying Chapelfield Colts this season, after a thrilling draw on Sunday. With eight wins from eight thus far, the hosts understandably started the more confident and took an early lead through the forward. Coundon responded in a positive fashion and grew into the game much more, as Ayo struck the bar then fired just wide of the post. The visitors finally got back into the game through a bizarre own goal just before the break, as a backpass rolled under the goalkeeper’s foot and into the net. Despite dominating the start of the second-half, Coundon fell behind to a long-range effort, but responded almost immediately as Ayo wriggled into the box before finding the net. Coundon took the lead for the first time with ten minutes remaining as George outpaced the defender before firing home. They couldn’t hold on though, as a corner wasn’t properly cleared and was eventually scrambled in from point-blank range.
